Apartment Check-In Process

Hi everyone. After three months of looking for an apartment I finally was accepted last week and picking up my keys tomorrow.

I am a little nervous for the check-in process for the apartment or "the protocol" as the agency calls it. Is there anything I need to keep in mind, check or ask during this process.

Thanks!

Check & check again that everything is PERFECT, if it's not mark it on the form.

What our birthdayboy said and be sure to make pictures too of the issues you find. It is likely also a good idea to bring someone along who knows the local language (depending on if you know it or not) and ow these things generally go.

Re: Apartment Check-In Process

Congratulations on your new home!

When you do the "protocol" focus on the things that will matter for your comfort - water pressure, paint job, cleanliness, windows closing properly, or what ever you would most want to have fixed if it were faulty.

You should have a grace period to report additional things to the agency. Here in Vaud we get an extra week, so check your lease. Hopefully it will have the information to help you relax for tomorrow
