Working in Geneva, living in France?

Hello everybody!

First of all, sorry if this has been talked about, but I couldn't find any related topics.

Basically, my question is, what are your experiences with the topic? I might get a job in Geneva and move there from Hungary, but as I see, housing near the borders in France seems cheaper (and I heard about the horrible supply/demand ratios in Geneva). Do landlords in France accept e.g. employer's documents from Geneva? Is this something that people regularly do, or are there 'hidden' disadvantages (like, if I want to act on anything official in Switzerland and I don't have a Swiss home address, etc)?

Thank you in advance!
