Leaking AC system

'Evening, question for the cracks here, I have an AC on the wall under the ceiling and when on, it leaks water. Actually, it is peeing water (a lot).

I cleaned the filters and that's all I know. Before to call the AC guy, is there something else I could do?

Muchas gracias amigos!

Re: Leaking AC system

There should be some sort of tube coming out of it to put the water outside... does the machine have part of it on the outer wall ? See if there's some sort of tubing that is maybe blocked or has been disconnected from the main unit, where the dripping is coming from...

Re: Leaking AC system

Probably just a hose come unconnected (or split) as the water should be sent outside.

Re: Leaking AC system

I do not think it is "leaking". The outer part is called a compressor.

It is condensation from warm, moist air ( it is very hot in Barcelona ) hitting the cold air con compressor.

Re: Leaking AC system

It is like a car with AC - when you stop the car, the water leaks out underneath.
Our AC has a tank where you can fix a bottle on if you use it a lot and this weekend it is very hot!!

Re: Leaking AC system

Sounds like a blocked pipe -( if you can collect the water it is really pure and perfect for your iron or car radiator.)

Looks like you might need some extra help - hope someone else can help.

The filters were so disgusting, I can only imagine how bad it must be in there, mostly like the rest of the house and the state the previous pigs errr, tenants let it...
