Disposing of furniture

Hi,

Trying to get rid of some furniture (wood table/chairs) as I'm moving out to a smaller place. I've posted some for free adds but, in the event that no one wants it (it is fairly old), are there official local dumps/recycling areas in switzerland where I will be able to leave this kind of stuff? I live in Winterthur right now.

Thanks for any advice!

Re: Disposing of furniture

Check with your local commune as they may have places to take/put out things like that. Or you could contact your nearest HIOB store to see if they might want to take it for resale. Website is: www.hiob.ch.

Search the forum under keyword of sperrgut ( using the Google powered option ) and you will find out how others managed to dispose their stuff.

Re: Disposing of furniture

Leave on the street with a "Gratis" sign.

Someone will hopefully relieve of you of the ridiculousness of the trying to dispose of stuff in this country malarkey.

I am surprised fly tipping is not a huge problem in this country.

If no one takes it though, say after a week, you might need to take action and get a loan to get rid of it.

hi!
did you try to bring your stuff to a Brockenhaus? they usally take furniture and objects, or whatever for free! I mean you don't have to pay taxes if you give them! but they must be at least in a decent condition! and did you ttry selling it on www.ricardo.ch ? I sold the whole livingroom there!
