Housing Market Bubble -

I have already done a search for a few of my questions and I fully expect to be redirected but I couldn't find all of my answers in there.
On Thurs we were celebrating my middle child getting out of hospital after a particularly vicious dog bite to her cheek (scarred but we hope that time will heal it), my landlady rang to tell me that they plan to sell the house we are living in.
There is no timeframe yet but they expect 3 to 6 months. Considering the disruption this is going to cause to my Kindergarten going kids we are thinking of buying a property in CH I would like to ask the following.
- What are my rights if we don't find a replacement house to live in / buy?
- is the market overinflated, are people expecting a bubble to burst?
- buying off plan - done here? any pitfalls?
- Is a house to 'do up' a naive dream? are there companies that can be contracted to do all of the work for you (I'm imagining the Gemeinde must be a nightmare in these situations)
- I work in Oerlikon and I'm fine with a 1hr+ commute.

Re: Housing Market Bubble -

Hi - I have moved it to a different forum for the moment, but you are mixing up a lot of issues on here. Some macro-economic, some about tenants rights, some about the issues of buying houses here, some about the perils (word used deliberately) of doing up your own house.

By trying to get them all answered in one place, you will miss some expertise.

I highly recommend that you look for relevant threads in the right places and do some reading - there are lots on each of the points you raise, and then tack specific questions onto the end of each.

(For example, searching "housing bubble" on this site gives 4 threads with almost 600 answers.)
The following 2 users would like to thank Caviarchips for this useful post:
