Interestingly our cleaner was holding on to the keys as she wasn't paid. Finally a threat of a visit to the police swiftly encouraged her to deliver them to us, despite the lack of the cleaning company owners.

Thankyour to everyone for the support and suggestions as we now have our apartment keys back in ourhands. Some sanity will now come back to the household.

Does anyone have more recent experience with these guys? According to Zefix they've been operating under new management as a GmbH since June 2013... the website is quite promising but we don't want to get our fingers burned if the issues from this thread are still ongoing.

Thanks... both of those were already linked above from 2013... but theres no mention of Gloor heing involved in the new company that was founded in June 2013 (3 months after the last post on this thread....)

Does anyone have any experience of them in the last 6 years? Obviously what happened before isnt good, but the Beobachter article is already 8 years old, and a lot can change in 8 years, especially with new management..?

We're considering getting a cleaner, and having researched a few of the flyers dumped in our mailbox we pretty much decided on these guys. Then I read this thread and the 2011 Beobachter article, and now we're not so sure.

This is why I asked for anyone with actual experience of the company since June 2013 (when the new company was formed under new ownership accordinf to Zefix) - basically, someone who can say if it really is a new company, new owner, new working practices etc., or is it just the same guy pulling the strings behind the scenes and nothing has changed.

With the greatest respect, unless you've used this company (or worked for them?) since June 2013, you can't really help me to answer that question...

At the time of Marco Gloor's doings, I was approached by someone asking whether I would be interested in a small paid job writing stooge glowing reports of his business dealings with varying persona somewhere online, to counteract some of the criticism he was garnering. Of course, I do not know at all whether this request was made with or without his knowledge or consent, or just by an independent loyal fan. Either way, I declined. Therefore, against that background, when this very old thread was revived, I wondered what your motivation could be.

A friend who used to work for him way back then, told me that she left the company bitter and poor, having been terribly exploited. Later, as recently as two years ago, when she was really in desperate need of a job, she returned to work there for a short while. She found the office staff friendlier than before, but the terms and conditions still unfavourable for her, as she was allocated clients across a wide geographical area, such that it would be impossible to get to their buildings by public transport, yet she was expected to cover her petrol costs herself, which cut into her hourly rate considerably.

She said that this time round she did actually get paid, albeit much less than in her other cleaning jobs, and payment was punctual, which is worth a lot. She could, however, never get a clear answer about whether or not she was insured for accidents (BU and also NBU).

Of course, my views are influenced by these two experiences.

Since you seem to be leaning towards choosing putzfrauenvermittlung, I'd be genuinely interested to know what this company would offer you, that makes you see them as a potentially good choice, over other companies.

We liked that they employ the cleaners rather than us... all the others we saw, it seems to just be an agency taking a cut, but the actual setup is still essentislly the same as doing it via a kleinanzeige in the Coop.

Also that you get one set cleaner and not a pool of cleaners who rotate around.

Our sole reason for thinking about a cleaner is convenience, so we dont want to trade that off against more admin, paperwork, insurance, etc...

If there are other companies out there who employ the cleaners directly, and where we get one fixed cleaner who doesnt change (other than holidays, sickness etc) then we'd be happy to hear about those too - so far we didn't find any.

I have friends who use Batmaid, and they have the same cleaner each time except for vacation and illness. Maybe worth a look?

With Batmaid we would still technically employ the cleaner I believe. They just act as agent and take a cut, as I understand it ftom their website.

We have been using Batmaid for a few years now. Never had any problems. Managing the bookings is really easy on their website and their call center is very responsive as well (sometime a bit too responsive lol For example, when my regular cleaner cancelled an appointment, they would call me several times to offer a substitute - which I rarely wanted). Zero additional admin/paperwork as Batmaid takes care of that and includes the costs in the cleaning fee.

As far as I know accident insurance is included.
