Best websites that list apartments/rentals in Zurich/Luzern

Hello my English speaking friends in Switzerland! I am going to start hunting shortly and I'm hoping you can share some of the better websites that list apartments and rental properties in the Zurich area and Luzern secondary to that.
Any help you can offer is appreciated!

Thank you!

Re: Best websites that list apartments/rentals in Zurich/Luzern

www.immostreet.ch
www.immoscout24.ch
www.homegate.ch
www.home.ch

All of these have some English, though property descriptions will be in French or German.

For private rentals:

www.petitesannonces.ch
www.anibis.ch

French or German only mostly.

You're welcome Amanda. Hope they help. What are you moving here for? Work? Trailing spouse? Something else much more interesting?

Re: Best websites that list apartments/rentals in Zurich/Luzern

haha. Well my boyfriend is Swiss-Canada and used to live in Luzern. I visited him many times when he was there and loved it. I work as a publicist for a record company so I'm currently looking for a job there in communications/event planning/media relations. Jason is looking for a job in University/College English teaching. Once we find those, we'll be headed in your direction! Hopefully this all amounted to something mildly interesting

http://www.comparis.ch/
http://www.homegate.ch/

These are the best ones out of all and you have English option for the websites. You might have to use Google Translate for some of the sub-pages though.

Cheers.

Re: Best websites that list apartments/rentals in Zurich/Luzern

Great! Hope it all works out for you two then. If you're thinking of using public transport too then www.sbb.ch is the Swiss Railways website. Type in your start and finish points and what time you want to arrive or depart and it'll give you several journeys to choose from, including bus and walking times if needed. Quite good for getting a complete A to B journey picture. Not always good to know that the train takes 15 minutes, but you have no idea it's a 30 minute walk/bus journey to get to the train in the first place! SBB does the whole thing for you.

Also a very useful book is "Living and Working in Switzerland". Lots of info on what needs to happen before you arrive and how to cope/adjust once you do. Your local bookshop or Amazon, etc, can order it for you.
