Can anyone identify this house insect?

Our neighbors have spotted these in their apartment and think they can fly. We have to wait until Monday to notify the landlord, but curious if anyone knows what it is. After a bit of Googling, seems to be a large ant due to the narrow waist? And yet it has straight antennae...like a termite!

Thanks for any insight! ;)

One of the Bockkäfer family.

Pretty much harmless unless you are a tree.

Why notify the landlord?

Are there many of them?

but probably quite tasty, although they don't contain enough horse meat that the supermarkets would consider commercializing them.

My husband and I are the Hauswart for our little house - only 4 apartments. So normally this just means cleaning the stairs. ;) But the neighbors with a few of these beetles in their apartment thought maybe they were termites, so they thought it necessary to tell the landlord. They have seen a few of them, but they're probably just coming inside because it's gotten cold again, right? Glad to hear they're no biggie! :) Thank you.

If your neighbour thought this was a termite, then they have never actually seen a termite ;)

Actually, people rarely see termites, because they die very quickly outside of their tunnels.

I highly doubt a 'longhorn beetle' is going to do any substantial damage to your house - do you have any nice big leafy trees outside ? That's where they are probably coming from...

Looks fairly close but definitely is not the same species. There are too many anatomical differences. However, it seems to be a member of the longhorn beetle family (Bockkäfer in German), as slammer stated, and probably of the Phymatodes genus, like the musk beetle.

I became a member of the EF community while googling forest roaches, but sorry, I'm not an expert in this field.
