Job Offer Zurich

Hi,

I have been offered a job in Zurich. The pay that I am being offered is Euro 59,500 or around CHF 74K. The company would however pay my accommodation and water / electricity bills.

Do you think that I would be ok with such a salary?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Job Offer Zurich

Certainly. 74K CHF is slightly above the median full-time salary in Switzerland - and most people's employers don't pay for their housing.

However, is the contract being offered in CHF or euros? Currency fluctuations can mess up your monthly budget pretty quickly.

Is 74K without House Accommodation enough to live in Zurich??? Yes, it is more than enough.

However, is 74K a good offer of not depends on your profile. e.g. If you are joining as a Project Manager, this is definitely not the salary you should go for.

Re: Job Offer Zurich

Its a sales executive role... However, my question is whether this would help me live a decent life in Zurich, hence, my job does not really make a difference does it?

Thanks for the replies...

Re: Job Offer Zurich

On your own you can have a fairly good life with that. But where do they pay you to live?
And for an executive the salary seems rather low, my analyst gets a lot more than that (without of course the housing)

Yes it does as you have different expectations depending on your job and it also plays an important role in how you relate to the people you come into contact with.

As a sales rep, you need to be able to show you are an equal to your purchaser, with a small salary you would not be able to look the part, so you see, it is extremely important. The salary you mention is low but livable, you have no commission payment on eventual sales ?

And what do you sell? Maltese cheese?
Someone posted that cashiers at ALDI make 4100 CHF/month and thus close to 50k a year.
That's 40k at todays rate.
