I wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation and could offer some advice….

I have a maintenance issue with the apartment i rent (I rent from Basler Versicherungen) where the company is failing to fix an ongoing issue.

I have had water coming through the living room ceiling from the roof garden above for several years. The living room and bedroom are affected with damp spreading across the walls too.

I email and contact the company regularly and they send someone out to replaster and just paint the affected area. They last 'fixed' the problem in February. But this cosmetic fix lasts a few weeks (at most) and then every time it rains the ceiling and walls get worse.

I first reported this 4 years ago (I know!) but I am just going round in circles with them.

I understand there is an impartial English speaking organisation I can visit on a Tuesday? in Basel to get advice (I've forgotten their name at the moment).

Take it up with the local association for people who rent, they may be able to help you. Or tell your landlord you want a reduction in the rent. That should get them moving.
