Restoring Leather - it can be done!

When we left the uk we left our very expensive leather sofa's in the house while a friend house sat for us, fast forward a few years and the 'friend' never bothered to clean them or nourish the leather, on top of that there kids scratched, spilt, climbed on and generally wrecked them

I've used products from
http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/
before, mainly for my cars leather, so I thought what the hell, may as well give them a go, worst case the sofa's still just look ruined

here are some before pics

And the afters

this was just after recolouring, the colour and texture have settled down now (about 2 weeks) and now look almost as good as new

furinute clinic deliver to switzerland too

Re: Restoring Leather - it can be done!

its very very easy to do, takes a bit of time as you have to keep waiting for layers to dry, but follow the instructions to the letter and you'll have no issues at all

no, the balms only work if the damage is a lighter colour then the leather, this was the repair kit

Re: Restoring Leather - it can be done!

one thing you have to be aware of, the kit comes with a can of propellant and and air brush, they are not allowed to send the propellant in the post so they will substitute it for something else, agreed by you, this means you'll need to source that here, or use a compressor, for me they gave me the fittings for my compressor instead

Re: Restoring Leather - it can be done!

I have found that I stick to the car seats on very hot days 35 degrees plus, it's not quite the same as a factory finish unfortunately.

I got the propellant sent with the original kit, they just would not send any more.

Amazing. I'll have to try the basic kit on my Audi's seats and get their conditioner for our new sectional.

take the seats out of the car first, otherwise you'll be cleaning the spray dust out of it for weeks

Looks fantastic, I take it the treatment also works for superficial kitty scratches on a brown leather sofa?

Re: Restoring Leather - it can be done!

works on anything as long as the leather isn't ripped, but they have a kit for that too

there are a lot of guides and videos on there website, and an online chat as well so they will be able to help you out.

One thing I would say is make sure you put enough sealant on, as its water based you really have to put a lot on (without it running) otherwise it just wears off again, I need to redo the single seat again.
