We moved from Wadenswil to Geneva and used a Geneva company which subcontracted the bulk of the work to Packimpex - I was very impressed by their speed and efficiency of packing, but they were also tremendously honest and keen to provide a really first class service. http://www.packimpex.ch/ |

I'd second Packimpex. They moved us from Thailand, the Thai end wasn't fantastic, but the Swiss end was brilliant. The office people kept us informed of the location of our stuff and the men who delivered it were careful, quick, polite and extremely hard working.

Hi,
We need to move a light couch 4 kilometers from Seebach to Witikon this week or weekend. How much would you charge to help us? We really just need the van, not so much labor.
Thanks.

I'd also recommend PackImpex. They moved me from the UK (in conjunction with GB Liners) and were very good at the Swiss end. Hard working, quick, nothing broken.

We just moved from Sydney, Australia, it was Wridgeways at the Aust end but their local partner is Harsch Transport - www.harsch.ch
They seemed to have people at the office end who understood english, and the removalists were fast and efficient - but that was just for a basic delivery of 14 packing boxes. Their website has an English section which seems good...
I'd also suggest packimpex.ch as a second option - I would assume their quotes would be similar, and personally I'd rather pay for professionals to do the job fast and efficient, than pay the same price to take twice as long for an amateur...
Also, personally, I'd get a local to get you the quotes, just to be sure there isn't an 'expat' *special* rate!

snjezana schaffer | | | | | Here are some recommendations for local movers. These are not international movers. Full details are available in the online telephone directory. www.directories.ch Willi Stefan (he also specialises in moving pianos) 5420 Ehrendingen Knecht Gebr. AG 5210 Windisch Schmid
5430 Wettingen
I do not recommendTwerenbold! We used them years ago and were satisfied so we booked them for a local move. The sales manager did the survey himself. On the Friday before the planned moved day of the following Monday they cancelled us. Said they had a scheduling conflict and had to move us to a different day. But that was going to make things really difficult as we had the cleaners booked. Twerenbold hadn't sent the signed contract back to us but the sales manager had assured me it was booked. We had an email to confirm. He had delivered packing supplies. I have contacts (mainly international movers) and so I managed to secure a mover at the last minute. Needless to say Twerenbold never sent me a bill for the packing supplies.
Good luck with your move. Baden is a friendly town.

Hi Forum
Sorry I don't check on the Forum postings much, if you would like to get in contact with the moving company who operate in ZH, write to cheapmovezurich@gmail.com include info on where you would be moving from and to , what floor you live on and if lift is provided and roughly how many boxes/furniture you wish to move - they will give you a quote for how many hours they think they will take.
Thanks

Hi,
It looks like we're moving soon too.
This cheap moves Zürich, does it have a website or something and where are they located? I have to admit, i'm somewhat sceptical at the prices, as I believe there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Plus for the recently moved amonst you, quick question - we have some rather large wardrobes to move, does the moving service also include things like disassembly and reassembly etc.? if that's necessary.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Phil.

Phil. | | | | | I am a bit suspicious of a moving company with a gmail address. A reputable moving company will do a survey of your place, and give you a price. The wardrobe disassembly, moving and reassembly can be done for a fee. If you prefer to take the wardrobes apart yourself, they will move the components. Then you can assemble them at your new place. They generally won't assemble what they did not take apart. If you do the work yourself, invest in some non- marking tape and label all the pieces in detail- this will make assembling them again very easy. It is also helpful to draw yourself a small sketch to note how you labelled the components, particularly if it is a large wardrobe.

Yeah my thoughts exactly.
I did actually through find a couple of decent looking and professional companies in the meantime from the forums here, i'll give them a try first of all.
The bed, office furniture and tables etc. I can handle, however I've got to draw the line on wardrobes and lights. I've done both of them before, only to have one wardrobe implode, and fitting the heavy pendulum lights.....well this time i'd rather pay someone to do that.
It will save my a lot of hassle and nerves.
