Hi, can anyone advise if I am allowed to buy any property in Zurich kanton with non-EU B permit? Any references would be appreciated. Thanks!

Being a non-EU B permit, it's my understanding you can, but only 1 place and you must live in it. When you leave CH you must sell it.

This is not true. My ex-boss is an Australian, and he bought an
apartment on a B-Permit.

It might have helped that he worked for one of the major banks.

but i suppose the law say.....property right is for swiss citizens and c permit holders...may be there are expections...and may be depends on the primary nationatily too.

Usually a C residency is needed to buy property.

Bulk exemptions are granted in certain tourist resorts. The builder must apply for a quota of apartments, which can be sold to anybody.

And if you are a F1-Driver, or VIP, or otherwise very wealthy, then you can negotiate your taxes and permits.

I see this as a lender issue rather than a restriction. Property rights have been relaxed in the last few years and I think JPH sums it up quite nicely.

I am also sure that, if you searched the forum, you'd see it is discussed already.

Ask at the town hall for a specific and precise answer.
