Hi All,

I live here in Switzerland for two years now, and I am planning to purchase a holiday home in Italy. However, as I don't have the entire amount, I wanted to make a mortgage.

Anybody faced the same issue before? Where should I apply? Switzerland or Italy? What are the requisites?

Any info is welcome.

I would look into a bank that has entities in both countries but it will be the Italian bank that will have to give you the mortgage as the Swiss one cannot take a mortgage on property in Italy. If your own bank in Switzerland has an entity in Italy, it would probably be the best bet to go through them.
