Where to buy furniture? (Other than IKEA, Conforama)

Dear all,

Are there any other shops to buy furniture than IKEA, Conforama, and Vedia.ch? I mean a buyable price

Online shop or physical store near Lausanne.
Thanks

Interio is running sales all month since it's their 40th anniversary. You might find something there.

What about Pfister? They have really nice stuff and it isn't all horrifically expensive (though they do have pricey stuff in there, so have a look at the price before you fall in love with it!).

Re: Where to buy furniture? (Other than IKEA, Conforama)

Try Fly.ch.

I've bought non furniture stuff from their Dietlikon (Zurich) branch a number of times and always found it reasonably priced and decent enough quality.

From the map, there are three stores that should be okay for you location wise.

Hope that helps.

Try Maxi Bazar.

http://www.maxibazar.ch/?l=fr

They have a shop in Lausanne, I bought a lot of stuff from them here in Fribourg.

They don't have bulky furniture like beds or sofas, rather chairs, tables, small cupboards...etc. Prices are very reasonable, worth a visit.

Go to your local CSP - http://www.csp.ch/

They sell goods people give to the church, i have found some great sturdy furniture there at ridiculous cheap prices.

I like Fly a lot too, as well as sometimes TopTip.

I've also bought furniture from Pfister and Interio.

There's also a couple of outlets and I once bought a lovely couch in one in Aargau, but I can't remember the name of the store. Starts with an A. If I find it, I'll post it.

Re: Where to buy furniture? (Other than IKEA, Conforama)

OP asked about Lausanne, but many posts point to Zuerich. But if OP is considering travelling that far, there are lines of retail furniture stores in Germany, along the border of Switzerland, to cater to Swiss residents. You also get the MWST back.

Given that OP is in Lausanne, a trip to St. Gallen probably isn't in the cards for buying furniture. What's the equivalent to a Brocki in Romandie?

All of the chains (Fly, TopTip, Pfister, Interio, Ottos) have stores in the Lausanne area.

The Fly shop in Solothurn is now owned by Conforama: are we sure Fly is still trading? Maybe phone before you go there?

Re: Where to buy furniture? (Other than IKEA, Conforama)

Online: http://www.home24.ch/

I recently got a desk from them. Quite a good selection, some have fairly long lead times though. Mine was quoted 3/4 weeks, but took 5 in the end.

Quality wise, I'd say slightly better than IKEA flat pack stuff.
300 CHF for the below, obviously not solid/real wood, but went together well, very solid build, soft closing damped drawers.

Certainly still operating under the same name in the Luzern area, I bought a load of bookshelves from them recently.

The Fly store in Yverdon closed down. Not sure what it is now.

Just throwing this out there, Wohnpark Binzen near Weil am Rhein in Germany.

They adjust the MWST for you, plus 250 eur rebate for taking your old furniture

This place might be worth a look. I've never been inside but it looks pretty funky from the outside....
