Where to find large beds, 220x180 (GVA area)

Being a moderately tall variant of Dutchman, I like my beds to be long. In the Netherlands, I used a 220x180 bed and while the bedframe was too deteriorated to move with us, we did bring the mattresses. So now we're sleeping without a bedframe and while that works, it's not ideal.

Unfortunately, I've been unable to find any bedframes longer than 2 meters in the regular stores. So I'm turning to here to ask if anyone has any experience with stores that sell beds in proper sizes in the Geneva area (Swiss or French side, either works) without it costing a minor fortune?

Bico (matress manufacturer) do offer 220 long internals but do not make bed frames/surrounds. I make custom made solid wood furniture so size is not an issue for me, depending on design most of my beds flat pack for transportation. If you have an image and budget in mind then pm it to me and I will see if I can assist. The only problem I see is transpotation to Geneva. An example below.

We were mostly looking for something factorymade as a custom made bed is a bit out of our price range for now.

We're now looking at just buying a frame back in the Netherlands and having a moving company ship it over on one of their regular trips to the area.

The IKEA bed frames are cheap, and usually for the length, it is only the long side pieces that are needed to be replaced. Take a look at how IKEA beds are made, and you could just get the two side pieces made 20 cm longer here.

Warning: I slept on a mattress on the floor, and after 3 weeks there was a lot of mould under the mattress - I had to destroy it. So now I always buy the slats and use those to keep the mattress off the floor and dry.

210 is easy, but we need 220 We already have the internals and I'm not a fan of having to saw 10cm off a mattress.

We don't put the mattresses directly on the floor, but on their slatted frames, which allow for some airflow underneath. And we flip them around from time to time. We've done this for a year now and we have no problems with mould.

IKEA has great ones. Or search for bett 200x220 on this page and you'll hopefully find an answer:

Good luck!

Re: Where to find large beds, 220x180 (GVA area)

This thread is a few weeks old, but we're currently doing the same search. Every place that sells mattresses will be able to get a 220x180 (Pfister, Top Tip, Fly, etc.), but it needs to be special ordered by the store and can take up to 4 weeks. But it's definitely easy to find if you talk to the sales personnel.

I'd be curious if you ended up getting a bed from the Netherlands and how much that cost roughly compared to here.
