Re: Internet Line blocked by the former renter

If you cancel the contract you must send a registered letter as well even if it is for something they do not supply. I know it sounds excessive, but they don't have many employees entitled to cancel contracts.

Sunrise said I won't receive any bill as long the line is blocked.
I think the point was, that in the absence of working landline internet, you're having to rely on mobile internet (phone tethering), which is costing you ....... whether you really are or not.

The point is that, if you send them an invoice for your costs, then they have to do something. It therefore becomes their problem. Even if it's only for CHF14.00, your invoice will be dealt with by the accounts department and sent to Legal for query. This may help to move things along nicely.

I know with Swisscom you can carry out these tasks at a Swisscom shop and receive written confirmation on the spot.

Is this not possible at a Sunrise sales centre?

Re: Internet Line blocked by the former renter

IMO, there are several instances of unprofessional conduct. For one, Sunrise and the landlord should not have given out 3rd party information, i.e. the previous tenants name etc. to the OP; furthermore, it is also inexplicable that they wouldn't void the previous contract, as clearly the previous tenant stated that he move out of the country and does not intend on using the services anymore. This is a complex situation and it seems that the OP has fallen into some weird loophole. I'm eager to hear how this particular situation will unfold.

I simply try to stay at work as late as possible to finish my paper.

Sunrise said they will not charge anything until the problem is sorted out. I don't have any bill to send out.

Re: Internet Line blocked by the former renter

You could involve the ombudscom (ombudscom.ch), that's the ombudsman for telecommunications. You can ask the ombudsman only after a failed negotiation and you have to prove that, I think you have done enough to prove it.
I think that's what the tv programs for consumers (like patti chiari) would tell you do.

Re: Internet Line blocked by the former renter

FINALLY my internet problem is fixed!

Short summary: I've spent the two last weeks calling and interacting (every second day) with every possible department in Sunrise till I got the final decision from them stating that they won't be able at any condition to activate my line and there is not solution for my case (as long as the former tenant is paying). One information I got out of the discussion with them is that the line is owned by Swisscom and only rented by Sunrise. So, I've asked the landlord to write a request to Swisscom (and not to "hopeless" Sunrise) in order to cancel the line. She did it, the line was de-blocked only 24h later. It was as simple as that. So, I'm wondering how come Sunrise was not able to propose me such a solution

Thanks folks for your help and all your suggestions.

Because everyone knows that Sunrise is useless. Thanks for coming back again and telling us: not many members do this!
