Furniture in Lausanne?

Does anyone know of any second hand furniture shops in Lausanne?
I need a table and really don't feel like having to go to Ikea again.

My forum searches bring up several threads from a few years ago but all the suggestions seem to have closed

Re: Furniture in Lausanne?

Try the Salvation Army thrift store which is adjacent to the Coop Brico on Rue de la Borde. The 3, 8 and 16 buses stop right in front of it. The bus stop is called Grande-Borde.

There are two entrances to the Salvation Army. One side is for smalls and one side is for furniture. The furniture entrance is the one closest to the Coop. This Salvation Army closes for lunch so plan accordingly.

**This is the Salvation Army that miniMia is talking about near Place du Tunnel. She beat me to it.

Re: Furniture in Lausanne?

Oh wow, that's actually rather close to me and I've just never noticed it. I've never gone beyond the Migros at tunnel, didn't look to be anything beyond it.
I shall have to investigate on the weekend.
Thanks.

It's just up the hill from that Migros on the opposite side of the street.

Re: Furniture in Lausanne?

Broki comes from the French word brocante. He can google brocante but what he will find are really low-end antique stores, i.e. junk shops, which sometimes have little hidden treasures, but not a lot of furniture.

This website, http://vide-greniers.org/ , gives all of the upcoming brocante fairs in the french-speaking part of Switzerland and in France. Wintertime is obviously the off-season, but the big, monthly ones are still being held, like in Annecy or Lyon. (P.S. Vide-grenier means "attic sale or attic clearing").
