How to win an apartment with Wincasa

We've been díing to get into one of the buildings on the northern side of Zürich Oerlikon (Accu Zürich, on top/part of the Marriott Courtyard), to no avail.

We are 2 engineers with fairly decent salary (well over 10k net combined) with companies of good reputation, non smoking, no pets, no instruments on a B permit. I would have thought that we are the perfect candidates for every owner in Switzerland, yet, 3 of our applications have been turned down fairly quickly in the last 8-12 months for the same apartment complex.

Even though I guess the "B" permit is the one that keeps us down the list of preferred candidates, is there anything I could do to sweeten the deal with the Wincasa personell? I also called them as early as the alarm came in email about the flat, but they insisted that I wait until the public viewing appointment even though I know fairly well what to expect as I've seen quite some of these flats already.

Apologies, if the "what to do to get a flat" thread has been opened a million times. What other things can I prepare (other than the obligatory Strafregister- and Betreibungsauszug) to have better chances? Write a cover letter perhaps? Send roses to the Wincasa contact (j/k)?
It seems being eligible and willing has not been enough yet to stand out from the crowd.
