Rent being not resident in Switzerland

Hello All!
I am wondering if for an European it is possible to rent a room in an apartment to share, without being resident in Switzerland.
The purpose is to have always here an available room after travelling a lot to other Countries.
Actually the house is provided by an agency and the others who live in this apartment have the regular contract, living and working here.
To do legally all the things, I think that the name it should be showed in the contract.
But, is it necessary to go to announce it also to the Kreisburo?
Does it imply to get a special permit/visa?
What are the ways and the consequences to rent a room for such situation?

Thank you!

Only if it's your main residence.

Re: Rent being not resident in Switzerland

Being announced in the contract of the house it should mean to be domiciled but not resident in the Country.. right?
So, I guess that if it is just like that it is not necessary to go to announce also to the kreisburo..
Do you know about it? Or where could I find this type of info?
Thank you

It can get quite complicated! Are you doing this for tax or business purpose? In which case it will be even more complicated, and if not done properly- as fraud. So be careful.

It's perfectly ok to rent a place for the purposes you state. There is nothing you need to do with the authorities if you are not domiciled/resident in the area. Plenty of people do it.

It does depend on the amount of time you would be spending there too. If it is occasional, and you don't use it as a business adress for other reasons, then fine.

I think it will be completely fair, if a room is taken on rent or best share an apartment, get the contract on both the names with the agency and register in kreisburo. You keep paying your share of rent. I believe this is legal.
