Recommendation on hand-over cleaning company in Zug

Hello,
I am moving out of my apartment and I need a cleaning company which will do the final cleaning with guarantee. I had a few quotes but they are very high. Any reasonable companies do you know? My flat is 95 sqm with 3.5 rooms and no balcony.
Thanks

Depends...what do you consider to be a "reasonable" price? Are you expecting them to be present at handover? Do you want a guarantee that they will make things right if the landlord thinks it's not clean enough? These are things you will want to keep in mind when considering value for money.

Thanks for your reply. Yes to those questions. "Reasonable" price would be under 1000 Franks.

You have a few quotes. Assuming they all came to your apartment and looked at what had to be cleaned, then they saw what needs to be done. To quote 3.5 rooms on the telephone is not a serious way to do business. Not having a balcony is not a big deal. In fact, having a balcony can make windows easier to clean.

If the quotes are not very far apart, then I would say that is what the work is worth.

If you are looking to get the job done for much less, maybe your expectations are not realistic.

We used this company, http://www.cleaninghelp.ch/ for a 3.5 room apartment with handover guarantee it was less than you mentioned before.

Definitely go with the best you can afford as when handover does come it pays off, we had a nightmare of a handover and was eventually settled by getting the job done properly. Some real estate agents and owners are very picky, actually so anal it's scary.
Also get someone from the renters association to be present for the handover, they make sure you don't get ripped off with your bond and the owners stick to what is legally required. Definitely worth their fee.

www.mieterverband.ch/mv-zg.html this is their website.

good luck.

Over the course of about a week and a half, I tried the "Get a free quote" link on the cleaninghelp.ch website, then sent a direct email to the email address from the site, and also called the number quite a few times. I received no response and was very unimpressed with the customer service.

I have since booked http://www.total-reinigung.ch/. My move hasn't happened yet so I cannot comment on how they did but hopefully based on the reviews on EF, things will go well. The customer service so far has been really great and they are really responsive. In addition, they had by far the best rates.

The agency who is renting to you should have a list of agencies which they prefer to work with. I would request this list (in writing) and go with the most reasonable offer with the handover guarantee (i.e. they are present at the handover and get paid after the handover has been successfully completed). However, this is just my own personal favorite approach. It is not the cheapest, but a reliable way to do it.

Re: Recommendation on hand-over cleaning company in Zug

Thanks for your responses. The real estate agent gave me a list of things to be cleaned. They recommended a company which gave me a quote of 1,650 CHF.
I found a company who cleaned my place once said they would clean the flat with a handover guarantee for 750 CHF (Clean Profis Reinigungen). And somebody will be present at the hand-over in case the owner is not satisfied, they will clean it. My question is that if it is possible to clean on the spot if they don't find it clean enough?

The reason I kept looking for a cheaper option was my colleagues who had much bigger flats had their placed cleaned for 750-780 franks. So you can find cheaper options who can pass the hand-over ordeal.

The most important point is that they will be present at the handover and that they provide the guarantee.

Some owners are not really picky at all. Others will inspect everything. I like to be thorough as well but with years of experience one gets to know what is very often forgotten.

Cleaning companies do not have the same procedure at the handover. Large companies may send a manager, who personally does not clean, but is accompanied by someone who does. This person will often walk around with the manager during the handover. If something is not right, they will attend to it then and there. They may go back to their truck to collect the proper materials to clean the problem. If it is a very small thing, it might take a few minutes to fix, and during that time you will just continue with the rest of the inspection or deal with the paperwork. Obviously you need to recheck the area which was in question. Smaller companies often have the main cleaner carry out the inspection and they usually have the supplies with them as well.

I have been in situations where the cleaning arranged by the tenant leaving was so bad that there was a huge amount of work to be done. We are talking several hours of work. No one is going to stand around waiting while the cleaning company works. So the leaving tenant and the owner need to agree on how the things will be handled. Often the owner will accept responsibility for the final inspection. The problem you run into is what if the work is still not acceptable. Also there is usually the problem of payment. You should not pay until the guarantee has been fulfilled.

What adds to the problem is if there is an incoming tenant also present at the handover and particularly if they brought an expert with them for their incoming handover inspection. Many tenants only think of having help when they leave but the incoming inspection is really important and it is possible to arrange for someone from the tenants' association, or an independent person, to be present. This expert needs to be satisfied with the cleaning as well. However, in most cases you should let the owner handle the incoming tenants.

I have been known to sign off on the handover paperwork subject to re-cleaning but in other cases I needed to go back hours later.....or the following day. No one should move into an apartment which has not been properly cleaned. All too often I hear from the leaving tenants that the place was not clean when they moved in. That is no excuse not to have it clean when you you leave.

If you have been given a leaving checklist by the owner do be sure to give it to the cleaning company.

Best of luck with the inspection and I hope it goes well.
