Possible to rent someones cave? (cellar)

Hey there,

I got an apartment sorted to move in, in 2 weeks.

Im still unsure if it has a cave or not. (cellar underneath the building). I've been to the building and there are caves in the basement - is it normal practice that there is a cave for every tenant?

If on the chance that it does not have a cave for my apartment, is it normally possible to "sublet" someone elses cave in the building?

Cheers,
Alan

most apartments have a cellar compartment. Doesn't it say in your contract?

We have a cellar, and rent a hobby craft room also. I know someone who does not live in our building, and rents another hobby craft room here.

I'd say your groan was a bit harsh there dawiz, I've just moved apartment in Basel, and saw several one room apartments, that didn't have a keller at all. Also, I moved from a 3.5 room apartment which also didn't have a keller.

So, while, yes, the vast majority of apartments do have kellers, it really shouldn't be taken for granted that they will have. Well, thats what I've found anyway.
