Hello,

I have some questions regarding moving out of a rented apartment. Basically it is written in my contract that I have to contact the agency six month before end of September to notify them of leaving the apartment.
Since I found only a new apartment one week ago. I contacted the agency just two weeks before the end of September. I am afraid that they will force me to rent the apartment for six month. I had a quick talk with the reception desk for the agency which said that moving out by the end of October won't be a problem. So my questions are:
1. In the case that I found a tenant who has the same salary as mine and will rent the apartment, will the agency allow me to leave before the end of October?

2. How hard is it to find a new tenant in Neuchatel ?

3. If the agency forced me to rent the apartment for six months, can I sublet it to another tenant ?

Thanks for your help and looking forward to your answers.

Any help is highly appreciated.

But you will still be responsible for paying the rental until the notice period finishes.

Um... no it isn't. Of course it all depends on what the flat is like/price/location etc but I have personally never had a problem finding someone else, nor has anyone else I know.

Agreed. It's really easy to find replacement tenants here unless the flat is really horrible or horrendously overpriced ( both of which are pretty unlikely here).
