Urgently need plumber in Neuchatel - preferably English-speaking

I either need a Neuchâtel plumber to make a house call today, or I need to get my hands on a plumber's snake from a plumbing supply / DIY store. Help!

http://tel.search.ch/lignieres/chemi...cent-chiffelle

We use Vincent Chiffelle and he has come to us very quickly in an emergency but I doubt very much if he speaks English ( having said that I've never tried)

We have a plumber's snake ( assuming you meant the long wire thing to stick down drains and pipes) but hubby won't be home until late and I have no idea where it is. If you can wait until tomorrow you can borrow it.

I'm sure Jumbo will have one though. Otherwise you need to try the plumbing supplier like Sabag up in Vauseyon or HGC in Cortaillod or Getaz in Cressier or the ironmongery place in Peseux maybe.

Sadly our great Scottish handyman left Neuchâtel last week-will be sadly missed. Bonne chance- ours is too far away, but knowing where in Neuch you are might help. Google 'plombier à + location (btw perhaps change your location in your personal info on EF, as it still says Canada).

Re: Urgently need plumber in Neuchatel - preferably English-speaking

I've always had more success with a rubber-headed plunger, than with a snake.
..... and to be honest, depending on what you need to unblock, rewinding the snake after use may be a bit unpleasant.

Landi is the place to find both - though it's not a typical town centre store.

Bought a 10m snake from Jumbo a few weeks ago. All the warnings above are absolutely the case - but plunging didn't work. OTOH a snake costs (~50CHF) considerably less than a plumber.

About half that from Landi (maybe just under 30)

Not Landi nearby and the cheap snakes were sold out. Still a lot less than a plumber.

Since he's on his way out and never actually lived here in the first place ( only visiting his girlfriend) that's probably not necessary. He gave the location in the thread title which is more than most people do.

Our plumber used something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AGT-Drain-Cl...t+air+pressure

He told me that every household with children (that may 'accidentally' drop something in the loo) should have one. We're prepared

You must have magic glasses, where is this info re visiting GF?

Neuchâtel is a fairly small town comparatively, but if I lived in Maladière, I'd rather not call a plumber from Peseux, as travel expenses and time would be charged. Makes sense to call a local plumber to location, really.

Special thanks to Belgianmum for her prompt and very generous offer.
Not needed in the end but greatly appreciated.
