Terminating a parking place

I sold my car a week or so ago and gave notice to the landlord that I no longer require the parking place. I got the parking place about 6 months after I moved in 5 years ago. They now say I must give 4 months notice on the parking place. I dare say this is written in the 4 page small print contract but at the least this seems unfair or as I'm really thinking legalised theft - anything I can do ?

read the contract before signing.

or

find someone that takes over the parking lot. hang a note in the apartment building etc. Might make sense as some buildings are short of parking places.

You signed it, so you gave your express and explicit consent on the landlord "stealing" from you

Re: Terminating a parking place

1. Pay

2. Don't pay

In case 1 you are annoyed and a little poorer, in case 2 you are very very annoyed by the debt collectors and a lot poorer.

Or as noted, option 1b - get someone else to pay by subletting. You can also potentially avoid the subletting if the contract can be transferred earlier.
