EWZ final settlement

Hi,

I am leaving this country by Nov end. My apartment will be taken by next tenant. Can somebody know how do I do the final settlement for the EWZ electricity (Zurich) ?
I contacted my agency, but they asked to contact EWZ directly.

Thanks in advance !!

Re: EWZ final settlement

Just doing the same. What you have to do is write them a letter telling them that you are leaving the appartment on specified date. If you know your next address include that in the letter as they will definitely need it when they take the final readings and send you the final bill (the `Schlussrechnung`).
Give them as much notice as possible.
Take a copy of the letter (for yourself) and then send the signed original by registered post (`Einschreiben Brief`).
As a tip - always send cancellation letters by registered post - it is more expensive but can save a lot of hassle.
They will then write back to you (in fact in your letter you should ask them to do so as soon as possible) confirming the cancellation and further details.
If you look on Google or on Comparis, you can find example cancellation letters (Beispiel Kundigungsbrief).
Hope that helps.

Re: EWZ final settlement

I just did it online on the EWZ website

https://mein.ewz.ch/irj/portal/anony...37d25644cb958d

You can do everything online and no need to send the deregistration document. I have also called them on the phone and they told me that there is nothing left for me to do, and they will sent me the final bill via email.
