Jeez, I think I have to give the EF a wide berth now...

I have such an identity crisis of how I have to be, who I shall be , what they think I am ....

I don't know if I am coming or going.....on one hand I am more backwards than a Neanderthal because of my old fashioned and valued culture & language like a throat ache and grunt, on the other hand I am already ahead of many others due to some newfangled Swiss invention (such as Exit) ...

I need to sit down now, my head is spinning worse than a carouse on amphetaminesl I just hope my identity hasn't run too far off, so that I may catch up with it again....I quite liked it after all.

Only on the EF would one come to question identity in a thread about washing machines. It truly is amazing - the universe in a single thread. Wow.

....the downstairs neighbours still use their illegal machine at nightime....which makes my bed shake for all the wrong reasons and keeps me awake......that's why my head is still spinning....so the identity crisis IS washing machine related.....certainly has nothing at all to do with the Swiss bashing😉😉😉

Re: What risk of installing washing machine if not allowed?

The OP's question was simple: can I install a washing machine?

In every country in western Europe (apart from Switzerland) the answer would be: of course, you mean your apartment didn't come with one?

Only in Switzerland (and on the EF) would this question result in over 120 posts.

Nope. My parents weren't allowed to have a washing machine or a dishwasher in the rental flat they rented between 2005-2010 before they retired and moved to the country house. Montreal area, large apartment block.

My mom lived ok without the washing machine, she did her laundry at the country house and in case of emergency they had a huge laundry room (first come, first served) in the basement. The lack of dishwasher, on the other hand, she never got used to.

Some tenants cheated, but the rental agreement was very clear.
