We are planning to clean our house ourselves. Has anyone with HEV Security Deposit Insurance done this? Just thinking as we won't be getting any money back I might not stress as Insurance might cover any disputes??
Security Deposit Insurance isn't insurance. If the landlord has an issue, the two of you agree it's an issue, the 'insurer' will pay out and then collect from you.

Re: planning to do the moving cleaning myself

We were living here for about 1,5 year. Most of the things are fingerprints and normal wear. So it will be better to speak with the landlord. Is my first flat that I rented here in Swiss so thank You for the answer.

Stupid question, maybe... How do you deal with living there and cleaning it for handover? Usually flats are rented out empty so until you move out how can you clean it when it is still full of stuff?

I thought that the way is to move out the last day, pay the professional cleaning company, hand the cleaning contract to the landlord and you are free.
In my case I moved my stuff out three days before handover and then cleaned the flat.
If you have only one day to move and clean, it is challenging to do it all by yourself and better to hire a company I guess.

Take care cleaning the appartment yourself! We have done this before and the Landlords were not at all satisfied becasue we couldn't produce a receipt to show that a professional cleaning company had done this. We then had to pay for a company to clean the clean apartment

Yeah.I think it can really depend on your relationship with the landlord and
how long you have been in the apartment.
I do a lot of the maintenance myself, and didn't bother him much over
the years.Hopefully he takes it into account when my cleaning isn't
perfect.

If the landlord is dissatisfied with the cleaning he can indeed get someone of his choice to clean to his satisfaction. So if you're brilliant at cleaning or your landlord is not too picky you might get by with cleaning yourself, but if there is anything wrong with the apartment's state of cleanliness you have to pay.

I'd say the landlord cannot demand a professional cleaner clean the place unless this clause is included in your contract, but:

Even if it isn't - if you didn't clean well enough in the landlord's eyes you'll have to clean until he is satisfied.

If it is - the landlord can ask the cleaning company to clean more thoroughly because he's not satisfied with xyz - if you haven't agreed to a handover guarantee with the cleaning company (Abnahmegarantie in German, meaning the company guarantees that they'll clean your place for the price upon which you and the company agreed to in advance, until the landlord is fully satisfied), you can be hit with extra cost by the cleaning company for (in the company's eyes) repeated cleaning.

So, it depends on what is in your contract and - most likely - on the relationship between you and your landlord.

Re: planning to do the moving cleaning myself

Funny thing.
When my apartment was handed over to me,the landlord was not happy
with the cleanliness of the extraction filter above the stove.
So the previous lady tenant dug into her purse and gave him her
spare change. She then told him to clean it himself.
Think she was having a bad day.She did her own cleaning.

indeed depends on the landlord.
I had a very bad experience of hiring cleaning company when I moved away from a flat in Seeback. The company did not do a good job in cleaning and the landlord was not satisfied. They then discussed (in Swiss German), and then decided that I should pay the landlord extra cleaning fee on top of the cleaning fee I agreed with the cleaning company, although I was quite sure I had this handover guarantee from the company. I could not argue with them because I don't and they only speak Swiss German!
