Water Softener Instruction manual: Elite Casa 2

Does anyone have an instruction manual for an Elite Casa 2 water Softener (made by Christ who were taken over by BWT here in Switzerland?

I want to run through the settings to confirm ours is working and set up correctly as I'm not convinced.

If you do have the same model, a scan and pdf would be most appreciated or I could borrow and scan it myself.

Thanks

Thanks - I did have that link though already.

Trouble is, the concept of simply emailing an instruction manual here seems to be too abstract a concept for most companies here but you're right - I ought to try there first and may even be surprised.

I'll eat my hat.

I did write them an email this afternoon and yes, they duly emailed me a copy of the instructions I needed without any hassle.

Re: Water Softener Instruction manual: Elite Casa 2

I've finally got around to measuring the water hardness and after a bit of testing - it appears that it's not actually doing anything (well not enough to make any difference. It would appear to be because the resin needs replacing.

Before I take out a service contract, if you do have an in-built waster softener, I'd love some feedback:
  • Do you get it serviced yearly?
  • How much do you pay?
  • Have you ever changed the resin yourself?

Thanks

No, it's because that's what you say after lugging yet another 25Kg bag of salt back from Landi to feed it's insatiable demands for salt.

"Christ!"

Actually, it's named after what the customers say when they see the service contract.

If you go for a service contract get LOTS of offers. We had a softener installed about a year after the new 8 apt building was finished. The best/worst offers for service contract varied by a factor of about 4.5.

Are you really using that much salt?

It isn't really a big deal to change the media... your problem will be finding as supplier, methinks.

Thanks. That's good to know.

No, I was joking. Salt usage is normal. Hence me thinking that the resin needs changing. It's ten years old.

We haven't got a service contract yet and to be honest we!re not sure if we will actually get one but the company who installed ours just sent us a proposal and I think it was about 180chf.
I'll have a look later and give you the details if you want.

We were quoted 350 CHF. We're in the German side though.

A water softener isn't "mission critical". I was thinking of getting it serviced as and when needed. Not sure if companies will do that.

That was the second option on the proposal.
There was an annual service proposal or a service when we chose to have it. If I remember rightly the cost per service was higher for the second option.

Not home at the moment but I'll have a look at it tomorrow when we get back.
