Firewood

I am moving on Feb 1. My new place has a very large firewood storage area. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that will deliver firewood in Zurich?

Re: Firewood

This might help but my German is not great.

You need to know what size of wood works best for your fireplace/stove. Normally the smallest is 25cm and often is 33cm. (most logs are cut and split in 100cm lengths to dry - then cut to the length the customer needs before delivery).

Wood is normally sold in quantities of 1 stere (1m3). With/without delivery.

You can also get wood in 1 stere quantities from Migros do-it, Coop Brico, and Hornbach.

Re: Firewood

I was looking for the same thing and found this useful site:

http://www.brennholzkaufen.ch

- and for conversion, 1 stere is about 450kg of wood assuming 70% space-filling and 680kg/m3 density.
