How does the Rental guarantee exactly works? Since I couldnt find much info about it

Do you pay a fixed price every month? Can you cancel it and move to put a deposit instead whenever you want?
You can practise your German for Basel here on the subject.

Here's the website (https://www.swisscaution.ch/en) for the rental guarantee. They can tell you how much it is monthly if you put in your total deposit amount.

You pay the annual fee, the insurer guarantees the availability of the insured amount (deposit) to the landlord. They pay if necessary but will clawback what they paid.

IIRC the premium is roughly 10% of the deposit, each year. Legalised robbery if you ask me.

I think its even more, since I put 6000 as the deposit, and then it says per month of 300 something... 300 x 12 = 3600... more than double
