How to fix hole and dent on the wall

Kids made some hole and dent like in the attached picture, what is the keyword to use to find a helper to fix them?

"Abrieb" But you'll probably have trouble finding a small tube/bucket.

Take a photo to the do-it center and ask what they have in that "kornung".

There are a whole bunch of grit sizes ("Kornung") and they come in positive (flat wall with bumps) and negative (Flat wall with depressions), so you'll need to take a bit of German with you to figure out what their response means.

Re: How to fix hole and dent on the wall

I just fixed something similar (some holes in the wall, around 1.5cm deep, 3mm diameter).

I went to Jumbo and bought the products attached.

One is sort of a dough, like quick cement or something like that.

The other is white paint in spray. Quite handy!

It was easy to fill the hole and with the spray, paint it in white.

Ah, I think is worth if you buy a spatula to spread the cement.

Total price of the 3 products is around 20CHF (a tiny bit less I think)

I think the result is quite acceptable.

If you look for a person than that would be a "Gipser" or "Maler-Gipser"
If you look for the material, then the stuff to fix small patches is called "Spachtel" or more precisely "Reperaturspachtel". Available in tubes as shown in the post above or as powder to be mixed with water.

Yep, or any bit of stiff plastic from packaging etc.

The thing is if you're patching a textured wall you want to be careful. If you use a plain filler you'll end up with a shiny patch in a textured wall.

I think this is a pillar and they used a metal trim to define the corners, then plastered over it. The plaster can be knocked off easily, as the plaster has no grip on the metal.

It will be more important to matach the paint, otherwise paint the whole pillar.

Agreed... Priming with a zinc compatible primer, then fill with a suitable textured filler, then paint the whole wall.

Invisibly patching this kind of damage on an "aged" wall without repainting the whole room isn't as straightforward as it seems.

Re: How to fix hole and dent on the wall

We just had plaster work done on walls which were tiled and we removed the tiles. When the plasterer was finished the corners looked bare. These joints were then covered by the painter.

The problem will be matching paint colour and just doing these touch ups.

There is a thread here about white paint which you may want to read.

I needed to do some touch ups and I went to Coop Bau und Hobby with a paint chip. They scanned it and mixed the matching colour for me.

This looks great - I'm moving now and have to close 4 holes - I'm not really a handy guy but this looks idiot proof!
