Swiss "Verein"/"Association" buys Property abroad?

Has anyone done this?
Been part of a Swiss club which bought property abroad?

By "club" I don't mean an "investors' club", but rather what is called, here in Switzerland, a "Verein" in German and an "Association" in French. They can typically be, for example, the local choir or tennis club, and can also be set up for charitable purposes such as to support an orphanage. The sports club might buy its own grounds, either in Switzerland or in a nearby spot in a neighbouring country, and similarly the charity might buy that orphanage building abroad.

We know a single person abroad who needs support, and have heard that a Swiss Verein would be a good entity into which to channel various kinds of funds, such as donations and perhaps loans (both from Switzerland and the Otherland), to buy a home for him, and to keep everything documented and clear. Since the sums would not be not huge, the Verein wouldn't need to be entered into the Swiss Handelsregister (commercial register), and this would keep the administrative overhead costs lower than, say, any kind of company or even a trust.

I'd be very grateful for anyone's experiences, warnings against or criticisms of this possible plan. And particular suggestions of how to make this work, if possible, or alternative ideas for running this small, dedicated project. Thanks very much.

EDIT: Otherland is non-EU, non-EFTA, nor is the USA involved.

Re: Swiss "Verein"/"Association" buys Property abroad?

It is properly more of a problem who can own property in otherland.
Also there is no Verein register like in Germany, on the other hand a verein can be in the commercial register which may help in Otherland.

See https://www.vereinsverwaltung.ch/ver...ter-eintragen/
I have this eerie feeling you already know that
