Dirty laundry room and drying area

Dear all,
I have recently moved in a new place and after my old one, where it was spotlessly cleaned by each individual after they finished, i landed in a place where the place is not cleaned at all. I am talking here about insanely dirty waning machines that smell slightly of mold, drying areas that have not seen a broom in months and the worst, people that leave their laundry to dry for days. I am extremely frustrated with the situation and seeing that they require money for the washing I am extremely angry at the conditions.
Does any of you have any idea what i can do in this situation?
I have complained to the manager of the building but aside from yet another paper written on the billboard nothing happened.

Plan to buy your own place.
Or ask the building management if you can buy your own washer for your own apartment.

Apart from badgering the landlord and/or neighbours to clean up a bit more, you don't have much option, especially if the established residents are happy with the current conditions.

Appeal to the Landlord. They often have no idea and hate to lose face, even if they're banking your rent. Any transgression from the House Rules / Contract makes most Landlords rage, so play them at their own game and complain directly to them. They'll then remind the tenants of their obligations and maybe after a few months you'll see change. It's also ok to communicate directly with your neighbours but that tends to go down less well.

Tiresome, other people, but we can't live without them.

Talk to the landlord, but even better- join Mietverband (Asloca in French part)- not expensive and they have tons of experience in dealing with such problems, and much worse ones, for tenants. They will have standard letters ready, and legal advice.

Is it particular residents to blame? Are there other residents you can get on-side to write a joint complaint?

Take photographs to go along with your complaint.

Re: Dirty laundry room and drying area

Thank you all for the fast reply and for the sound advices.

My stay here has not been that long so I do not know the tenants and as there are 16 apartments in this building I'm not certain I ever will.

I will try and contact the landlord and send pictures but. As this is not the first unresolved issue i have with them i doubt they will care that much.

Can I join the Mietverband and get advice in english?
