Re: Which appliances to bring from US?

Hey guys, groan away however, if you had first hand experience using transformers/converters bought in the US for US appliances and arrived home from work to a kitchen fire, you would be skeptical as well. It's important to weigh risk/benefit.

Well, most of us know what we are doing, and how to select a transformer appropriate for use.

I've been using transformers since I was 8 years old, and have never had one catch fire.

(a couple tube amps, sure, but that was usually due to bad capacitors, or arcing on crap circuit boards)

Anyway, why would you be running kitchen equipment when not at home?

Re: Which appliances to bring from US?

if you view this as an "appliance", and it's in good nick, bring your car as part of your personal belongings, benefit from the import with no duty fees. We did and was totally worth it.
