House paint colour matching

Hi there,

I wonder if someone might be able to advise ... I am aware Coop and Hornbach perform a colour mixing service for house paint. But I would like a colour matching service where I provide a sample colour and a machine copies it.

Does anyone know if/where this can be done in Switzerland?

Many thanks,

Toby

Migros offer it in their Do-it centres (or at least 42 of them...no idea if this is all or just some)

Re: House paint colour matching

I brought in a paint chip to Hornbach and we color matched it to the various color patches they have there. Not sure if this is what you want or something more sophisticated.

Be aware if it is outdoor exterior paint, even one season will change the color or appearance when exposed to the elements so its no guarantee they will be the same.

Re: House paint colour matching

Actually seems Coop do it as well
"Nachmischen eines mitgebrachten Farbmusters" https://www.bauundhobby.ch/service/farbmischservice/_de

Also Bauhaus I think, if there's one near you.

Migros is certainly scan based. Not 100% certain on Coop.

Re: House paint colour matching

Thanks! It's for interior paint.

I asked at the Coop Bau and Hobby, but they are only able to 'match' the colour by sight. E.g. I take a sample and we hold it next to their palette to see what is closest. I was looking for something like the Migros solution where they scan the colour for the specific levels of RGB etc then replicate it.

Thank you for all the tips! Very helpful

Re: House paint colour matching

I went to Bau and Hobby with a piece of painted material from the house exterior and they used a scanner to find the right colour.

Try a local Sikkens Centre - they only sell paint/wallpaper etc. Our decorator swears by them. They have about 50 stores all over CH.
