Washing machine water pipes installation

Hello,

I have just moved to a new apartment in Zurich and would like to install a washing machine. There is currently no setup for the water intake/waste.

Would someone be able to recommend a good company for this job? Any price indications would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi, we did it ourselves and that saved us some money!
Youtube provides videos showing how to do it, and its actually quite simple. Those videos show you the items you shall buy i.e. thread 3/4 inch, hoses (in case your water source or drainage source are a bit far from the washing machine).

For those necessary items, Jumbo is the place to go.
Below is the link showing them:

Hope this could help and good luck!

First you need to check that your landlord/agency will allow this.

oh yes, check your contract and ask permission from the owner/landlord - or you could get into all sorts of problems

However, your 3rd party liability insurance will pay out even if you DIY without permission or if the landlord SPECIFICALLY says no, and then the building floods as a result

If you can't provide a link, I will file it as another Odile fantasy , you did lose the bet on this last time if you remember.........

If the landlord tries to end the tenancy & WINS in court you can probably stretch it out for a further 3-5 years if you want. If the court does not agree the tenant gets protection for a further 4-5 years before he can even try again for some other silly reason. Of course, during the dispute, the Landlord won't get his rent as it's can be paid into the court instead, this generally 'focusses' landlords as they still have to pay the mortgage themselves

Seeing that you rented an apartment without one, but with the special place allocated for the wm, knowing that you read the contract, knowing from our experience when we moved here, ie sometimes landlords just show to the pipes sticking out and say, 'you will have to get your own washing machine' - I would go with the recommendation above. It is simple. Don't worry. Good luck.
