I received my work permit, now I have to search as quick as possible to an apartment. I was looking in the map, and how about Turgi? I will start to work in October 1st.
Are there others cities in this area that would be a good place to live with famliy, wife and daughter?
Thanks
Marcos

Thank you Mrs. Doolittle for the tips! It is very important for my side have the schools and kindergartens close, and I don't want to stay in a place where I have to do connections all the times in Baden to go to anyplace.
I will consider your comments.
Regards.
Marcos
If you are thinking of Turgi, I don't think you have considered what I wrote in my earlier post.
Commuting time Turgi to Daettwil (your workplace) - 40 minutes.

What else do you want to know about Turgi? In winter the nicer side has little sun as it is blocked. On other days depending on which way the wind is blowing you get a good whiff of the fumes from the garbage burning plant.

Hi Marcos, any word from the HR people? I saw a few furnished places have come up that will work for you temporarily, hope your HR people don`t drag their heels as the good places go quickly....did you need something for October or September?

Hello Mrs. Doolitle!
They said that there is a company's apartment that I could stay for the begining (3 months), and I could search better when I arrive there a definitive place. But it is not 100% yet. I will arrive in September 28th (Sunday).
If you have any suggestion, please let me know.
Tks
Marcos

What`s not definitive? The temporary housing? If you are expected to pay for it, and I assume you are, as that is the norm, I hope it is not a dump or in an undesireable area.

You are absolutely better off looking for permanent housing once you are here and get to know the lay of the land a bit.

Yes, I will pay for that, I'm not sure the value, but I am waiting a confirmation for this temporary place for three months. I hopethat evething is OK with this place, because I don't want to stay in a hotel.
Tks

Hi all, I found this old post really helpful as we're relocating to Baden area March 2019. We found nice apartments in Daetwill and Niederrohrdorf. Weíre also looking at Nussbaumen, Untersiggenthal, Gebenstorf, Turgi, Rieden, Neuenhof. I just donít know enough about Childcare facilities in these places, and traffic. We love nature, so Iím primarily looking at villages around Baden.
Looks like Turgi is not that nice considering winter sun and pollution of garbage burning plant? I was wary a bit about the traffic from Niederrohrdorf to Baden. What are your opinions of the above mentioned towns?
So far my favourate place is still Daetwill because of childcare/schools, and modern apartments.
Additionally, I wonder if living along the Sbahn line from Zurich to Brugg would make sense? Are there places to avoid? (e.g. very loud, not good childcare etc.?)

Thanks so much for your advice!
