Engineering / Architecture costs...

Hey, I'm wondering if someone has some experience and can convey estimated costs for a home in the 180sq meter range to have engineered/designed and ready for town submission for building? Is this normally a % of the cost of the building, hourly or some fixed price based on sq footage? This would be new home, one story with basement built in Zurich area.

Not interested in getting offers or references; just trying to ballpark. Also not how much this costs with the town planning department. Any insight would be helpful.. Thanks!

Re: Engineering / Architecture costs...

I just saw this pearl.

I am sorry to say, this is pretty much the "how long is a piece of yarn?" old question.

How much does it cost? It depends on the location of the project. It depends on the location of the architect/engineer. It depends on the difficulty of the project. It depends on wether it's an apartment building or single house. It depends on the materials used. It depends on whether it's a new built or renovation. It depends on the town hall and their fees/taxes. It depends on wether it's old fashioned drawing, or using BIM. It depends on the object itself and wether there are funny rulings applicable to it. It depends on what you agree with the architect/engineer - if fixed prices or hourly based.

You can't really expect an estimation based on "it's a 180m2 home".
