Re: Pettiness

Has anyone bought themselves a small washing machine to keep in the flat? I found some top-loading washing machines that take water direct from a tap and have a complicated drainage system of a pipe straight into the bath!

I think it would make a nice addition to my bathroom...

I was going to get one but surely there is a law against this sort of thing?

I'm not too sure how related to this thread the question was so I've moved it....but check you're insured and check your landlord allows it. Also check how much noise it makes as often the sound travels best up and down apartment buildings via the bathrooms

Re: [Q] Counter-top washing machines

Thanks Lob, I had forotten about this question so thanks for moving to a new thread.

I contacted the letting agent to find out what the landlord thinks and I am waiting for an answer at the moment. I went for a ground floor appartment anyway just in case the piano makes too much noise, so with only one neighbour, to worry about I am hoping it should be ok.

The only concern raised so far is that as the washing machine uses a lot of electricity, this is going to quickly exceed the electiricity charges included in the rent.

I was thinking about a dishwasher as well, but that might just have to wait for the next flat/house...
