Importing new furniture, reclaiming vat

I have bought 2 couches at DSL in England and have arranged for them to be delivered by a removal firm from England. I need advice on how to claim the GB VAT back. Does the removal firm need to have something stamped at the border or how does it work.
I would be so happy if someone could enlighten me 😀😀

Have you asked the store if they are willing to return VAT?

Re: Importing new furniture, reclaiming vat

The last company I used refused to get the forms stamped at the border. They also didn't declare the goods on import.
These companies are no a tight schedule and if they are delivering for lots of different people, it could mean a lot of paperwork.

So no, I wasn't able to claim back the U.K. VAT but I didn't pay Swiss VAT either.
