Apartment with no balcony

Have any of you ever lived in an apartment (in Switzerland) without a balcony?
Would you know if the apartment was difficult to rent out/ sell/ resell because of lack of balcony?
Any experience you can share is appreciated.

Happy New Year :-)

Re: Apartment with no balcony

I have never lived in an apartment without balcony, and I would definitely not buy one without it. If you are looking to buy, I would suggest you avoiding it, unless the price is terribly good or there are other mitigating factors not mentioned in your post.

You are asking the question, so you know that really, you want that balcony!

To rent a lack of balcony would probably not make much difference, but to sell probably yes it would have an impact unless the location was amazing.

Actually I don't much need a balcony :-D I hardly ever used the balconies in my last 2 apartments in Zurich. Based on this, I purchased an apartment last year without a balcony. I got it for a very good deal. And I love the apartment! But sometimes I get buyer's remorse. I'll most probably sell the apartment and go back to my home country in 12- 15 years. Who knows if I'll be able to sell it then.
I've had the apartment evaluated by professional agencies since the purchase and it has appreciated considerably in value- but whether it will actually sell when time comes is another matter :-)

We are moving out of an apartment without a balcony into an apartment with a rooftop one...we are making up for lost time.

Re: Apartment with no balcony

If the apartment is on the ground floor, I'd say, yes, go for it; the balcony would seem unnecessary...
