Self Storage - UK vs CH

Guys,
Didn't find any recent posts on this important topic so was hoping to get some ideas. Does anyone have experience of both for potentially long term storage?
I am waiting to hear on an assignment which may mean me leaving CH for about 10 - 12 months.

Would it be wiser to -

1). Move all belongings back home (London) and look for storage there
2). Use storage here which will eliminate hassle of an international move

Before you ask the all important question, I don't yet know if I would return to CH after the assignment.

In my opinion, given that you don’t know where you’ll be moving to at the end of your assignment, it would be easiest to store it here.

You could rent a Lagerraum in town, prices roughly are 100,- to 200,- per month and storages go from roughly 6 to 20 square meters.

There should be companies who specialise in selling our shit on our behalf...
I don't have time for this unfortunately

But yes - I will get rid of all the furniture for sure.

They are decently safe, they are mostly just the storage rooms like most people have with their apartment.

Re: Self Storage - UK vs CH

If you don't return to Switzerland will you definitely go to the UK?
If not, why shift the furniture around accross borders - do they like travelling, you wanna give them a treat?

Unless you own a house in the UK where you can just store your stuff in the cellar for free, the idea sounds effortful.

Phil MCR has a point re selling it - you know, anything you don't need for a year you don't really need.

HAHAHA! You are funny! Yeah, I guess all my hundreds of shoes and books don't really need to visit Brexit land.
I was trying to save - thinking storage here must be at least double that in the UK. But yea - don't need the extra hassle.

Thank you!!

I'm a bit confused and after checking I have a new suggestion: Store the stuff in the perfect flat you were gonna rent last week?

Indeed, that is also one of the options. But then I am faced with:

1. subletting whole place
2. keeping a cellar or a room to myself for storage purposes

so if storage is ultra cheap, subletting the whole thing might be a better way.

I know, too many moving parts right now...hence all the stress waaaaa
