Retrofit door buzzer/intercom/lock

Hi,

We live in an old apartment block and our landlord is quite friendly and willing to make repairs when needed.

We would like to request retrofitting to put a door buzzer/intercom/locking system onto the shared front door (ie. at the moment, we have to walk down to the front door to unlock it for visitors...no intercom!)...

Does anyone know what the best current method is for doing this, and possibly some suggestions in german - I'm pretty sure our landlord will use his own 'handyman' for the job - we just need to work out the cheapest/simplest solution and send a proposal.

With 7! kids living between three apartments...there's a lot of door bell buzzing as the kids go out without keys (either don't have them, or forget them) plus all the other random kids coming in/out...

Doorbells are easy - but when you want control of a door lock and an intercom too, it starts getting expensive - and more complicated.

Koch in Au, ZH seems to be what a lot of people have but they're not cheap.

Here's their relevant web page

You don't need them to fit it - they do sell to trade (and private customers too I believe).

If you decide that everything is too expensive - you could just go for doorbells and go for a wireless option so no wiring was needed.

There are some here - not a Swiss site but an example of what is available. You'd need three sets and would need to ensure that the RF codes were unique for each of the three.

If I were you, I'd contact Koch and ask for a rough price for what you actually need and go from there.
They are friendly and helpful there.

You also have the option of buying components from China. In this case, I don't necessarily recommend it, but you may see the same products here which are a fraction of the cost of those bought locally (and will anyway be made in China):

Or at the other end of the spectrum, the OP could go for a finger-print scanner system.

We've got one (came with the house, I didn't buy it) and the kids never need to have a key and can let themselves in.

The only problem is that little fingers grow so fast and so after a year or so, they can't let themselves in so need their fingers re-programming into the system.

Ali-Express is good but you need to be selective.
