Thank you!
I’m not sure if I’m being naive but the advice you give is what everyone I’ve spoken to has given me so it’s becoming clear it really should not be my issue. However the landlord is now harassing me with dozens of messages about this and when I mentioned the MV he said they should call him directly. I have about 6,000 in deposit with him. I’m not even sure what was written on the protokoll when I signed but he is claiming this is one of the things I need to fix (other being lock cylinder change penalty - but that is my fault so it’s ok).

How do I dispute this when he is insisting it’s “damage” beyond normal wear?
I bought the magic sponge and am willing to go have a shot at it myself but the new tenant is being difficult. Only says he can give the keys / be there next week. The thing is I am leaving the country and this shit is distracting me from very real and much bigger issues.

Writing to the MV now but as their response times are an amazing 3 days - not sure what to do in the mean time.
Maybe bite the bullet and tell the landlord to arrange someone to paint over it. It's a small work. ( probably ). From your picture I can sympathize with the next tenant. The landlord will then deduct whatever from your deposit. Just make sure its a reasonable offer. Some ( most ) landlords are arseholes!

Should only be necessary to paint the affected wall . The whole wall. Otherwise there could be a colour difference

" I’m not even sure what was written on the protokoll"
Always get a copy of whatever you sign, at the time you sign (preferably a carbon copy, but in my limited experience that's unusual for handover protocols). Otherwise you can't be sure it didn't get altered later on.

Hi there,
Could anyone please recommend someone to paint a small lobby/entrance hallway wall? The new tenant who has moved in has apparently spotted some very fine marks left by furniture. Landlord was fine at the handover but the guy seems a bit special. Even the landlord was annoyed at the demand as the wall is actually new as the apartment is merely 3 years old.

Any advice on if this stuff is covered by insurance?

Looking forward to hearing from some helpful souls.

Thank you all!
Please PM me and I will share pictures of the wall.

xx ukg
Guess you can add landlords to your list along with pharmacies!

No need for repainting, tell him to use the magic sponge

My dearest EF-ers!
In the times of unbearable stress and tomorrow being my last day in Switzerland I have an update!!!! Thank you to all of you for your support and especially to whoever recommended me the magic sponge from Migros!!!!

I was finally able to convince the landlord and the new guy to let me at least have one shot at the wall and if it doesn’t work then I just pay for it/send to insurance. I bought this AMAZING sponge and it cleaned like magic and the new guy said he’s absolutely happy with it now & will let the landlord know. Hopefully that should close it. Fingers crossed! Thanks again!!!! Xxx

P.s. my hands and nails look like I’ve been embalming chalk laced bodies or something but at least it worked!!!!!
