To be fair it is only Fr 798'000.-- and you get the land as well. But yes otherwise bonkers.

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

I don't know. Sure, that's small, but for that price you get a piece of land, what seems like a nicely designed house and two car park spaces. Double everything and you would struggle to get a new freestanding house, 5 rooms, 400m plot at 1.6 million. (In Zug, anyway)
I think that this would be a great place for singles or couples...and relatively affordable (Again, in Zug)

I don't know this area, so may be speaking out of my rear end...

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

It is around CHF 200k for the ground. Leaves you CHF 600k for the house which is a hell of lot for such a tiny "Fertighaus" box.

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

Some people buy mainly because they compare the monthly repayments with their rent, and they choose not to focus on the long-term gain of resale.

It's not that easy to find a 2 1/2 roomed flat, for Fr. 1500 per month, at all, let alone with the interior custom-built.

This isn't Zurich. It's in the middle of nowhere where the rent on a 4.5 room apartment in nearest village to this place costs 2k.

I quite like it, not 800k like but if you're single or an older couple it would be perfect

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

Newly build 64 m2 wooden architectural free standing house on a 200 m2 lot including two parking spaces on the side of Basel voor 800K.

People who find this weird have no clue about the market imho, I find this a normal price, and it is a cheap and excellent for couples to start their live together and it even has space for a kid.

You are right. I had a look at https://www.immowelt.ch/liste/allsch...rima=1500&sv=2 and there are quite some to choose from at that price, to rent.

Then I looked at properties on sale: https://www.immoscout24.ch/en/flat/b...wil?pt=8f&r=20
Interesting results, indeed, compared to your first link.

Since when is less than 10KM to the centre of Basel the middle of nowhere?

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

It’s soooo expensive because it will be only available the next year. Developers assumption back then was that the prices will go up steeply ...

P.S. I you give it so much publicity like on the EF now, probably the price would have reached over CHF800k than it’s worth right now!

Fair. (tho that implies you are almost up for the second nappie period )

Nonetheless I think we agree on this one, and lets not get into a personal chat here about how long we're here and how much we like it or what nappies we like

Re: Tiny house - Swiss Edition

I'm not sure what is more shocking. The price tag of 800k or the advert for the house for 800k.

'Yes Rolf we need to sell this house. Take some weird arty pictures of the outside, a window, a staircase, and then another window...but an outdoor window picture this time'

With so much publicity the price has decreased by 2k down to CHF798k.
