Re: Trouble getting off lease

I haven't read all posts but did you know that the landlord cannot automatically renew the lease contract if you announce to the landlord / regie that you don't want to renew the contract?

I mean the current lease contract is in your and your ex-wife's name so the automatic renew can only be done under the same conditions, i.e. the same responsible persons, price, terms and etc. This will force her to make another contract with the landlord / regie with her name only or to move. Be aware though that you have to announce the landlord / regie within the legal notice period.

Re: Trouble getting off lease

Hello,
Yes we are aware it will be a new contract for my ex with new conditions etc.
maybe thats why she is also hesitant as she could be aware the rent could go up...
it effectively leaves me "stuck" on this lease .. unless "according to my lawyer" a judge can intervene to take me off the lease, which is unlikely ..

its a very complicated situation and made worse by the fact that she just refuses to communicate or cooperate with anything
