Vevey area - where to look for housing - close to Haut Lac school

Hi - we are moving to Vaud this summer and have started looking for a house. Our two boys will join the Haut Lac International school above Vevey, so we are looking for something in the vicinity of this school. We would like to live in an area without roadnoise, preferably with some charm, and since we will be bringing two dogs along as well - a house from which we can easily access forests or other areas where we can walk and train them (hunting dogs).

The house itself should be detached and preferably with a sizable garden :-)

Any pointers or benefits advantages of St. Legier, Blonay, Jongny, Attalens (I know in Fribourg), Chatel-Saint-Denis or other?

All of those are nice places, except I would eliminate Châtel St Denis.
There aren’t Many properties as you described. So if that is the priority then you take what’s on offer. But again, they are all lovely.

Probably the two governing factors will be what you expect to pay rent-wise and whether you can find a property that allows 2 dogs.

Looking on various websites for places that allow pets I find rent prices of

Immoscout24.ch
CHF4,200 for a detached house in St Legier
CHF6,000 for one in Blonay
Nothing in Jongny or Attalens with pets

Homegate.ch
CHF4,550 and CHF5,000 for St Legier
CHF3,200 and CHF3,800 for Blonay
CHF8,650 for Jongny
Nothing for Attalens

Home.ch
CHF8,650 for Jongny

Having dogs is going to limit your choice quite a bit. Also check and double check that they will be allowed regardless of the the ad might say so you avoid ending up in this situation.

You are only listing properties that bother to check the allow pets option on the site. These are family homes so having a pet is expected.

The OP shouldn’t exclude outright the other listing. She needs to make that the first question before she visits.

Indeed. Always ask, not all properties advertise that pets are welcome.

st-leiger has a train but jorny doesn't.

Stuff like this may matter depending on your form of transport and age of kids.

I presume you may mean Jongny......

Which incidentally has a very good bus service ever hour, up and down ;)

Yes a typo, happens. Bus once an hour isn't as easy as the little train to the main station.

What exactly is the difference the train goes at regular times, the bus goes at regular times.

Big advantage of the bus is, that is stops just outside Nestle for the Nescafs ;)

Thanks to both of you.The frequency of bus/train is important. We have two teenagers :-) But do any of you know something about fortes and places to let the dogs off leash?
