Re: Signing away all rights to contest planning application on adjoining field?

As the notary suggested, it sounds like it would be simple enough to have that clause removed - since there are no plans registered.
If they do show some plans, then have the clause modified to say you don't object to the attached plans, and ensure they are definitely attached (and signed by you to avoid substitution!) before signing the main contract.

If there are no plans drawn up at the moment (and I mean properly drafted architectural plans, not simple sketches or rough ideas) I would insist that the clause be removed.
