regitration with the Gemeinde during renovations

What is the procedure in the following case:
--currently renting an apartment in Gemeinde X
--buy a house (Gemeinde Y) which needs renovations which may last several months(<6 months)
--the notary said that we have to register with the new Gemeinde Y as soon as we get the house is registered in Grundbuchamt
--therefore, we will have 2 addresses during the renovations

Is this allowed? Do i have to inform the current Gemeinde X about this situation?
Thank you for any useful ideas or advises

Re: regitration with the Gemeinde during renovations

You will not have to register in Gemiende Y until you officially move in, which you can only do after you have received the certificate of habitation (assuming it's a major renovation).

You still count as living in Gemeinde X until that happens and you make Y your official residence.

If you have any doubts go to Gemeinde Y and ask them.

Remember also, when making renovations you will need a Swiss approved electrician and plumber to approve the installations and issue a certificate. You may also need a fire certificate as well. You will not get the certificate of habitation without these.
